Starring Alex, James and Greg

La Magicast

The notorious Zeman is back on the Roma bench – we discuss what that means for the romanisti.

We look back at the ending of our season and the “Calcio Scommesse” which might influence the final league standings.

And with the Euro 2012 starting, we take a closer look on Prandelli’s Italy (with Borini and De Rossi).

Enjoy!

Thanks for the pod, fellas. Entertaining and informative as always.

I’m slightly more optimistic than you about the Azzurri’s chances. Tiredness will play a big part in the tournament and key players like Cassano and Balotelli could be fresher than some others. Also, the (unfortunate) absence of the top Serie A sides from the latter stages of the Europa and Champions League bodes well. Compare the Juve players to the Bayern or Madrid players; they must have played 15 games less this year, and stressful, exhausting games at that. So, I fancy Italy to get out of the group in second and surprise France in the quarter final. A semi against Spain would beckon.

One question for you next time, when I’m sure you’ll discuss a raft of new signings: what kind of balance is there between Baldini and the coach in choosing players? Does Baldini try to sign the players the coach asks for? Or does the coach try to work with the players Baldini signs?
